Stevie Ray Vaughan was well-known for his bringing back of the Blues to main-stream music. He merged the American Blues with the British Invasion of the Blues with great success. His influences were people like Freddie King, Eric Clapton, Lightnin’ Hopkins, Albert Collins, Stevie Wonder, Albert King, B.B. King, Muddy Waters, Jimi Hendrix, Buddy Guy, Lonnie Mack amongst other guitar players.
Many guitarists still revere Stevie, or SRV, as one of the all-time best guitar players ever! The list includes Kenny Wayne Shepherd, John Mayer, Eric Johnson and many other well-known guitarists.
