CSoM NEWSLETTER – February 2016

2016 Recital – Set the Date!
We are happy to announce the date for our annual music recital!  The 2016 recital will take place on Saturday, May 21st, 2016 at the Arvada Center for the Arts and Humanities from Noon to 4 p.m. Last year, we had over 70 participants performing on piano, guitar, violin, drums, saxophone, singing, and even our own student rock band! We welcome students of all ages and ability levels.  Registration materials will be available in March.

Online Pay Discontinued
After a short test period, we have decided to discontinue online tuition payments through our website. The system we require to process online payments was neither convenient nor economical for our customers and our school going forward. Thank you for your understanding. As always, we will accept tuition payments by cash, check, or automatic bank check.

Come See Our Instructors Perform!
In addition to being dedicated teachers, many of our instructors are professional musicians and perform regularly in the Denver area.
This month…Redline Radio
Redline Radio is the band of our co –owner and head guitar instructor, Dean Cutinelli and his wife, Muriel. Redline Radio is proud to enter into it’s 8th year of performing your favorite dance hits from the 50’s through todays favorites! This month, they’ll be performing locally at ‘In The Zone’ located in Golden, Colorado, Friday February 12th from 8pm-12am. Check them out at: www.redlineradio.net

Muriel and Deano from Redline Radio also perform as a duet, playing a diverse spectrum of entertaining music from the 1950’s though today’s top hits. Featuring both female and male vocalists, the duet incorporates acoustic guitar, ukulele, bass and percussion to create a rich and full sound.

Come out and see Muriel and the Deano’s perform February 13th from 10pm-1am at ‘Bar Louie’ located in Denver at the Shops at Northfield Stapleton.

Making a Band? Are you interested?
Although we specialize in private lessons, we have had customers express interest in a ‘rock band’ style group class that would involve students from different disciplines getting together to learn and enjoy playing in an ensemble. This would be a weekly group class lasting six or eight weeks, and could potentially include students of any instrument or voice. We’re curious to see if there is interest for this type of class, so if you think you’d be interested in trying a class like this, please let us know by speaking to your weekly instructor or emailing us at info@coloradoschoolofmusic.com!

Never Too Old…music lessons for adults!
Music lessons are for the young at heart, not just the young. If you’ve been thinking of renewing your love of piano or taking your guitar playing to the next level, try a private lesson with us! At the Colorado School of Music we are proud to have many adult students on our roster, studying all different disciplines. Our instructors are experienced with students of all ages, and will be happy to work with you to be sure that your lessons meet your individual needs.

Adult music lessons are available for all instruments, including guitar, piano, drums, violin, and more.

The Snow is Here…
Now entrenched in the cold months, we get questions regarding our policy for winter concerning snow closures. In the event of a snow closure, The Colorado School of Music will post an announcement on our website: www.coloradoschoolofmusic.com the morning of the day in question to announce the closure. Due to our large schedules we don’t always make personal calls regarding snow days, so please check the website when in doubt.

Happy Valentine’s Day! See you next month!
