Piano

A graduate of the Lamont School of Music at The University of Denver, Cat Ackermann received a BM in Jazz Piano and Commercial Studies in 2011. She studied under the world-renowned jazz pianist, Eric Gunnison, and excelled in jazz theory, performance, and composition. Cat has been teaching private lessons since 2007 and writing music since the age of 16. She also has been performing professionally since the end of high school in Pueblo, CO, and currently works for an entertainment company called Moments Notice. Cat has her own four piece alternative pop band called The Sleep Escape and an ambient duo called Yuanfen Dream. She plays piano and sings in both projects. Her teaching style is catered individually to each student based on age, level, and interest, but she focuses largely on theory and aural skills (ear-training). Cat loves teaching and giving back to her community by spreading her love of music!
